I hate my hair. What kind of cut should I get?

My friend looks exactly like you, with natural red hair, and what he does is instead of letting his hair straight (he has the same length, not as deep as yours though) he brushes it to the side. If you need an example, look at my avvy, but picture longer hair that looks much more kept.

If you want to keep a trendy Korean/Japanese style cut, it's definitely not too long right now. It's actually pretty medium length (medium, but slightly on the long side), and it really depends on how you want to manage it.

If you want something short, because having long hair bothers you, you can try going for a faux-hawk (and remember, get it done at a Korean hair stylist, because that way you'll get lots of good texture that are essential for complementing Asian features), a short shaggy, or a wolf cut (for a wolf cut, the back parts of your hair are going to be a bit longer).

I'll try posting up some pictures:

Long Shaggy Cut (I think this will be a great one for you to work towards, if you can get used to having long hair):

Long Variation of Shaggy Wolf Cut (notice the long hair at the back):

More Manageable Dandy Cut (but you still see how much texture there is, which is not easily given by American stylists):

Medium/Short Length Shaggy Cut (once again, you don't see this kind of texture in U.S. trend cuts, really hard to get it unless you really really ask the stylist and you know what you're talking about):

Prime Example Shaggy Cut:

Textured Wavy Hair (waxed variation of Dandy Cut):

Shaggy Faux-Hawk (requires the use of wax, which might be too annoying for you; it was for me, lol, but this is a great style if you can put up with using wax):

Like I said, the key in getting the above styles are going to a good Korean hairstylist (one that has studied in Korea or has a lot of Korean students that go to her/him). I personally had a few miserable experiences (and many more of my friends) of going to a nearby American hair stylist even with pictures of these; the amount of texture that's the groundwork for trendy Korean/Japanese hairstyles isn't taught widely in the U.S. (because these "shaggy" haircuts complement Asian features, and can be disastrous for some Caucasian features).

I hope you find a good one that you like, and it's great that you've at least grown your hair out that long!

TY Effendi you don't know how good that made me feel :)

And AsiaXiah, how much should a good korean stylist charge for something like that Long Shaggy Cut, I definitely want a good quality cut.

Not yet. I can't go with that one cut you listed that alot of you liked because of some spots on my acne that would look very very ugly on me (oddly enough my forehead was completely clear before I started to let my hair grow out).

Go rain, go rain, its raining, it's raining...

I reckon that would look awesome.

For future reference, its not that western stylists aren't used to complimenting asian features, its because the structure of caucasian hair and asian hair (mainly chinese, japanese, korean, tai...etc) is COMPLETELY different.

With caucasian hair you dont have to make a cut as precise because the natural texture of the hair is coarser and less even. With asian hair you have to cut it UTTERLY PERFECTLY or its really really noticeable.

Knoweldge = courtesy of my mamon the hairdresser, lol.

She said lots of technical sounding stuff. Mine is the cliff notes version.

I think all asian men should be forced to have longer hair. It looks so fucking awesome, and you guys can get away with it much easier than caucasian guys.

Well I forgot to mention a couple details that may be important. I'm part Caucasian, and my hair is naturally really really curly, but I straightened it once a few months ago. Does this present a problem when going for something like the medium length shaggy cut.
