b'nana 0 Share Posted April 27, 2008 it was pretty bad. The same thing happened to me when I tried to cleanse my face with baking soda. The only thing different about it was that this time I went to the emergency room and the er doc gave me a Pepcid tablet , 20mg, a shot of steroids and a shot of benedryl (Histamine 2 blocker). It started working right away. He also gave me a script for a five day trial of steroids and Pepcid (Histamine 1 blocker). I was not about to endure that for three days again! My reaction was swollen eyelids and face, extreme itchiness (I tried to scratch my face off), redness and burning, no crusting, and I broke out all over my chin and one cheek. And the E.R. doc told me to see a derm about getting on accutane. He acted like it was no big deal and described the dry lips and regular blood tests and such. Told me it worked wonders for acne. I am considering it. It may actually work, but I won't know until I try.In the meantime I am sticking to the regimen and does anyone have any suggestions about what to use in place of the Neutragena Healthy Skin lotion? Thanks.
