Applying Retin-a after shaving or later on?

Recommended Posts

Ok I know I already posted this, but I believe I may have posted it in the wrong area of the forums.

Hi, I have some quick questions. Im on Retin-A and I was wondering if its okay to apply it immediately after I shave (which is in the evening), which means I wouldnt be applying a moisturizer or aftershave. Or, is it okay to shave and follow with after shave, the wait for like an hour, wash face again, wait 30 minutes and then apply retin-A? or would that be to harsh since I would be washing my face too much? Moreover, is it okay to apply Retin-A over an aftershave? thanks.

Retin-A instructions typically say that after washing the face, allow the skin to dry for 20-30 minutes then apply it.

So, I'd say if you are going to shave, then after you are done shaving/rinsing, don't apply anything at all onto your skin then wait 30 minutes and put on your Retin-A.
