What DOES work for whiteheads?!?!

Recommended Posts

I feel like crying. Everything I do never works. My face continues to be oily and pores clog ever day. The only thing I can't control are my whtieheads that continue to build up. They rarely inflame but never go away. Please put anything that has helped you in this terrible struggle.

Have you tried taking fish oil? It seems to have helped my daughter, along with a good consistent skin care regimen.

Maybe you could tell us what you have tried that didn't work for you? I'd love to make some recommendations, but don't want to suggest something you've already done.

And what products are you using now - cleanser, etc?

I am using:

- Eucerin Redness Relief Cleanser

- Spot treating with Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide

Take: Zinc, Fish oil, and Multivitamin (with no iodine/kelp).

I have tried: Differin (helped a lot in some areas, broke me out in whiteheads in others that werent previously a problem), Benzclin (helped a ton for a while now doesn't do anything for me), Retin-A (made my skin way worse), I have been giving some 2%SA and 2%Glycolic pads from my derm about a week ago and those have definitely made my whiteheads worse within just 4 days of using them (i have twice as many as I did before starting them).

Any suggestions would be great.

Why are you spot treating with Panoxyl? I think you should use it full strength like suggested in the Regimen. You can use a gentle/soap free cleanser, a finger full of bp, and an oil free moisturizer. Do this twice a day and you might see results.

Has anyone used Tea Tree Oil to get rid of whiteheads? I've read a bit about it today and it seems to have effects for some people
