Why are antibiotics generally not used with Accutane?

My derm put me on a 1-week supply to help reduce some inflammation.... but is there a reason why antibiotics are not generally included in the 5-month regimen?

Antibiotics would not seem to intefere with the Accutane medication, and would only help by targetting bacteria, right? Or am I once again missing something?

Well, Accutane will do its work. There's no point in spending more money/becoming immune to/and possibly adding side-effects if the Accutane will work on its own.

probably because Accutane has a high level of toxicity. If you added another anti-biotic this would increase the strain on the liver even further and may result in complications.
