My marked face

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can you offer me solutions to my scarring?! I looked in the mirror this morning and just wanted to cry. I was on the verge, and found myself thinking, 'what's the point in any of this'. I just feel like my skin will never recover. I still have some acne, although massively reduced, but, unlike a lot of you, mine is not in localised ares, therefore, my face is almost covered in red marks. Without make-up, I just look awful. I'm devastated.

What can I do?

short answer: see a dermatologist about your scars. i think it helps you a lot more than any advice you could get here as you're kind of taking your first step by seeing someone about it which is better than taking no steps by just asking people for advice on the net

Red marks fade over time so dont worry about that, you need products like glycolic acid that helps with sheeding the skin if you want more rapid clearing, it could take from a couple of months up to a year depending on how dark the mark are. Pitting needs more attention.

Also it is recommended that the skin is clear and under control before treating scars, eg BPCs, tane etc

O, sorry guys. My eye sight is obviously shocking: I didn't see the section entitled 'Red Marks left after acne'.

Gracieb,

For red marks, try lactic acid (gentler than glycolic) or Likas Papaya soap (inexpensive and effective). The soap is an exfoliator and has whitening herbs also.

I would just like to thank you all for your advice. I am sure that these suggestions will prove of great value to me and I intend to look into them. For the past three days, however, I have simply used salt in water when washing my face - it tightens the pores and therefore leads to the reduction of active acne - and a mixture of purified water and apple cider vinegar (3:1) with added lemon juice, for the scarring. Straight forward ideas, but they seem to be helping me make great progress: I only have three active spots and my red marks already appear to be lessening.

I hope this continues!

When I have red marks that show alot, I put a green tea bag in a cup, obviously boil it. :)

Then after i've drank the tea and the tea bag is warm, I very gently pat the tea bag over the red mark for a few minutes and leave it to dry for 20 - 30 minutes, it tends to help red marks dull out.
