Can moisturizing counteract Accutane in any way?

Accutane "works" by shutting off the oil glands, and drying your face up, correct? So wouldn't moisturizing tend to counteract that effect? How's a pimple going to dry up if it's constantly moist?

I was wondering about this because at my 1st monthly checkup the derm said to feel free to use Cetaphil facial moisturizer even if your face doesn't feel dry.

My previous MO was to only apply it if I felt dryness or peeling, which hasn't been too often.

accutane shrinks your pores or whatever to the size they were when you were young and didn't have acne. Moisturizing your face doesn't counteract because it is drying you from the inside
