There's a reason why smoking causes premature aging..... Your body is using all of it's vitamin c resources to fight the free radicals and toxins you introduce into your body through smoking. Vitamin C is absolutely essential in the process of collagen formation. Smoking while attempting scar revision is simply retarded.

The amino acids L-Proline and L-Lysine are two of the essential amino acids needed to build collagen, but the chemical reactions that turn them into collagen use vitamin c. In fact, most of the body's tissue uses vitamin c to form. That's why sailors would die from Scurvy [lack of vitamin c] because all the tissue in their body would be incapable of regenerating. One of the symptoms of scurvy is healed scars turning into open wounds. Frightening!

This is true. I remember reading an article a couple years back on the first successful face transplant in France (I think it was France). And anyway, the patient who had the transplant done was smoking after her procedure and doctors were worried it would effect her healing.
