Please help with my hyperpigmentation

Recommended Posts

I am here to ask for very specific advice regarding my hyperpigmentation.

About me:

1. I'm Asian

2. have tried two sessions gentleYAG laser and has not helped with hyperpigmentation

3. have tried glycolic acid, but it makes my skin break out (and has left more hyperpigmented spots as a result)

4. Most of my hyperpigmented spots have been there for over 5 years, so just waiting for it to fade is not an alternative for me.

5. I am skeptical of OTC products that are not recomended by a dermatologist

So there, I've made it pretty hard to make a recommendation given these restraints. Nonetheless, can anyone give me advice?

I understand it's a bit selfish to ask something only specific to me, but I really need to get to the bottom of this. Any suggestions, especially from experience, is much appreciated.

THANKS!

I am asian and I break out from AHA too.

There are two products that work for my hyperpigmentation:

1. Shiseido white lucent serum, very expensive, but I noticed the effect within 1 week

2. Vita-k product for fading red marks, cheap and working as welll

Good Luck!

Well first things first. Do you still struggle with breakouts? If so you need to get that completely under control before you do anything. Secondly glycolic acid is probably breaking you out because you still have gunk in your pores that has to come out sometime anyway, you don't want that stuff under your skin, it causes inflammation and that doesn't help hyperpigmentation. With that said, make sure to have your acne clear first and THEN worry about treating your red marks.
