Okay pics taken in lighting that was suggested, ugh!

Recommended Posts

Okay I now have scars I didn't think I had!! These pics were taken in a darken room with a lamp held under my face to cast shadows, I even scared my self a little  It didn't work as good with the lamp held overhead. I hope no one is fed up with me yet from posting all the pics! These are the last ones I post!

Now what do ya all think?

Oh honey, you have dysmorphia, you truly do. Your scars are not bad. I know they make you miserable, but they are something no one else would look twice at. Your confidence is scarred more than anything else.

I see your scarring and as a guy, I *would* notice it. While its not that attractive, its pretty minimal. I would say most people here (including myself) have far more significant scarring. My suggestion to you is to use some very minimal procedures (dont do anything too risky) and call it a day. Put more effort into other things in your life. Treating acne scars can be very time consuming and costly, use that energy elsewhere.

Willow, I'm sure you don't like me or believe me - but honey, PLEASE consider working on your self esteem because your face and skin is really very nice. The people here on this forum who are telling you that the damage is minor are NOT lying to you. We have nothing to gain by telling you it looks good. It is not that you are crazy - but sometimes we see ourselves wrongly - that doesn't mean we're nuts at ALL. I am currently working on seeing myself as I am. It is a long battle. And it is only in these past few weeks that I'm realizing my damage isn't as bad as I thought it was. You're not crazy - but you're not seeing your skin realistically. If you hate me for saying it - so be it - but that is the truth. You could be very happy without changing a thing except for your perspective.

I guess it's hard for people with minimal scarring to believe that they have "nothing to worry about" because the scarring is not being compared to other types of scarring, it's being compared to perfect skin.

So yes, when you compare Willow's skin to other scar sufferers, it's not so bad. But when compared to perfect skin, it can be seen as bad.

When people tell me I have minor scarring, I agree -- I may have minor scarring compared to other scar sufferers, but compared to the skin of the majority of people I encounter, my skin is bad.

Everyone has different goals, dont forget that. Some of us are perfectionists....that is probably part of our DNA. So lets not trivialize her scarring. Its all relative to the person. However, it is important to realize that the risk/reward benefits in this case may not be very good. There is little to be gained at this point and the risk/time/$ can be high. For the rest of us, it is worth the effort for better skin though. But yeah, I would love to have this level of scarring. If I did, I would never visit this site again :)

I see..nothing. No one is ever going to judge you for not having a flawless complexion. Seriously, your skin looks great. You need to take the mental leap now and just forget about it because there really is NOTHING even minimally abhorrent on your face.

Gosh willow your skin is truly amazing. It is ALL in your head - a serious thing that might be AND it will require working on, but it's not your skin you need to worry about. There are people much younger than you that would love to have your skin

I dont think everyone questioning willows mental state are helping here,

Although it is mild , It still causes any sufferer day to day social anxieties etc.

I think my scars are bad but if i compare them to a google search for acne scars I realise its not so severe.

I'm sure I'm "luckier" then people with really severe scarring. I have only seen a few pics of poster with what I would call severe.

It is all perspective, I know no one else personally with scarred skin. I am always aware of my scars wherever I go and I know I spend a lot of energy on them. I try not to let them bother me, but I feel I stick out like a sore thumb. I don't want this to control my life, it has and it sucks.

Posting these pics and the ones in my gallery I just wanted peoples opinions on what type of scarring I have and what I could do myself to maybe improve them, if possible. Believe me I want nothing more then to be happy with myself, I just can't get past my scars, and I have tried. I do appreciate all your responses.

Merf, one of these pics is taken front on. I cropped them to keep some

anonymity.

wow, to this poster - i'm sorry, but i can't believe you said that. that you would notice that makes me pretty much feel like dying.

willow, i told you before, and i will tell you again - what you call scars are nothing but a bit of un-evenness of texture that NO ONE WOULD EVER NOTICE. my scars are actual scars, actual indents in my skin and mine are FAR WORSE than yours. you really, seriously, have almost nothing at all and i would die of happiness today if i had your skin instead of mine.

Willow,

I'm guessing that under normal lighting, most of your scars don't show.

You have some scars, yes, but they are not that MANY and they are very but very shallow

I really think you are obsessing too much. I'm not saying you need psychological help, but your quality of life will improve once you realize you're scarring is very minimal.

Yes there are people out there with great skin (Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, my own mom who doesn't even get wrinkles at 60) but it's a fact of life that not everybody can have such a great complexion. Some people have freckles, etc.

Some of us have moderate scarring, WAY worse than yours, but I don't lose sleep over that. I want to improve them, but if it bothers someone, they are more than welcomed to stop looking. I'm sure they're not perfect either.

To MERF

I feel your pain. Acne does bother me a lot, but A LOT. I finished my accutane course 2 years ago, and still take accutane sometimes a get a little zit to avoid breakouts. I don't know what's gonna happen to my face if I ever get pregnant (I'm not planning obviously) My Acne is very hormonal. But I feel your pain.
