Fruit & Veg pop quiz

Ok, everyone round here seems to be putting themselves up as nutritional whizzes these days so here's a pop quiz for all you nutrition experts - try answering these without cheating

Which of these should have the greater effect on blood sugar due to having the higher carbohydrate & sugar content? (ignoring all other factors like fibre and fat content). (Basically can you tell which foods contains more sugar/carbs? - this is the way diabetics can control their blood sugar levels, by knowing which foods contain what sugar & carbs and limiting them!)

  1. 1/2 a cup of vanilla ice cream or 1 cup of orange juice
  2. 1 cup of kellogs cornflakes or 1 medium banana
  3. 2 cups of cauliflower or 1 cup of broccoli
  4. 1/2 a snickers bar or 1 medium apple
  5. 1 cup brussels sprouts or 1 cups of asparagus
  6. 2 cups of peas or 1 cup of whole milk
  7. 1 can of cola or 1 tin of campbells tomato soup
  8. 1 tsp sugar or 1/2 a medium potato
  9. 1 wedge of watermelon or 2 slices of wholegrain bread
  10. 2 cups of strawberries or half a maccyd's breakfast bagel (steak, egg & cheese)
