How mush aspirin can get absorbed through skin?

I've been doing aspirin masks a lot lately (LOVE THEM), but I'm a bit concerned because I've read a couple posts of aspirin being able to get absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream.

Well here I sit with about 8 or 9 crushed up aspirins on my face... I'm not like going to OD or anything, am I?

I'm pregnant and know that you're not supposed to take aspirin orally. My fear of doing an aspirin mask is the same as yours - who knows what amount actually gets absorbed by the skin and potentially enter the blood stream. It's probably extremely low but I can't take that risk.

its actually quite high because many people actually report feeling dizzy afterwards

should you being using it till you feel sick? I dont think so. Just limit it. Too many of anything is never good for you, and once every other day should be more then enough. Taking in mind it is an acid, you don't want to be burning off skin faster then your replacing it because it can result in something bad.

8-9, huh?!

i did 5 once and about passed out on my bathroom floor i was so dizzy.

be carefullll!

i guess different people react to it in different ways, but still...

i probably wouldnt use so many.

if it's not enough for your face, mix it with another mask that you like..or honey. or even an exfoliater

Wow I didn't know people could get such reactions! I've been putting like 15 of them on my face every night and leaving them on for a half hour with no strange feelings what so ever :o

Actually.. I might take back what I just said above about getting no strange feelings. I put about 12 aspirins on my face and left it on for a lot longer.. and now I'm sitting here with my heart feeling like its beating a lot faster than normal. Has this happened with anyone?

I didn't realize it could be absorbed by the skin to such an extent. Mandy just make sure not to do it too often...maybe 12 pills was too much?

So I guess if I'm allergic to aspirin, this wouldn't be such a great idea for me huh.
