Will self tanner make red marks worse?

Recommended Posts

Real tanning is bad for your red marks because of the uv rays and stuff, they will prolong there existance. Self tanners such as the creams and the fake tans usually are fine. Sun beds and stuff have the same effect as real tanning so stay away from that.

I heard that red marks can get worse if you actually tan, they get darker. So what about self tanners? will it affect the red marks in anyway?

For me, self-tanners do not affect red marks in any way at all. If you have an area of very dry patchy skin you may experience excessive darkening on that area. (actinic keratoses or seborrheic keratoses).

And if you do have actinic keratoses, start regular examination of them. A certain percentage of them will form into squamous cell carcinoma. Avoiding sun exposure for a few years may help some AKs fade.
