Hey There.. I had two questions regarding Accutane..

First off, what is IB? I see everyone talking about this in other posts.. and I haven't been able to define it.

Also.. I think the cause of my acne is from having super dry facial skin (Just rinsing it in the shower, and coming out and pat-drying it, makes my skin crack)

Applying anything like BP, or anytype of soap or anything like that makes my skin terribly dry.

I've been applying Ahava Lotion to my face after getting out of the shower, and it's seemed to clear up my skin a ---little--- bit.

I was wondering if accutane was the way to go.. if not I wont even bother dialing up all the derms. in our area to try and force a prescription.. lol.

If it isn't the way to go, does anyone have any idea how to cure dry-skin caused acne?

This is starting to get frustrating.. I've yet to have any question answered on this forum.. I know for sure one of these answers can be given easily since so many of you use "Ib"....

IB = initial breakout. Hrmm dry skin acne....cant say ive heard of that one before, the majority of us on here have super oily skin. Accutane works by pretty much closing up the oil producing folicles on your face (or something like that) so would probably be a bad idea for you if you already have dry skin. Maybe you could look into doxycycline or another type of antibiotic like that?

Thanks m00sie,

I will go do some research on doxycycline..

From my experience though every anti-biotic just dried me out even more. But I will be happy to look it up.

That was my only guess that IB = initial breakout, but the way it was being used.. made no sense in that way.. =O

Anyways thanks for both answers.

Starting to get frustrating? Do some research and lose the attitude.

That's part of the frustration.. and I figured someone like you would make a reply like this.

The first thing I do is research, the last thing I do is ask questions. I'm an Internet Marketing Specialist, so naturally the first thing I do is study, test, then test... re-test.. and then I finally begin testing.

Along my studies I read about accutane and all the users I found seemed to have the same type of skin.. oily skin. But none of them clarified if it was ==Just== For oily skin.

Funny though that you posted that I should do some research that my first reaction to what m00sie said was "Thanks I will do some research on that".

The terrible downside to forums is the useless content filled by posters just like yourself who offer nothing of value and only look for negative opportunities to bash someone. Go try it in real life and see how long you last.

Please don't start THAT argument, or better yet, an "e-fight."

You said you were frustrated and that you've yet to have any question answered on this forum. Well, you must be a pretty terrible "Internet Marketing Specialist" if you can't find the answers...they are littered all over.

In addition to losing your attitude, you should also lose your sense of entitlement.

FYI, I own a company that provides solutions in clinical research management, specializing in clinical pharmacology. Please please PLEASE do not talk to me about "adding value."
