for me it actually DID help ..

but i HAD oily skin before my accutane course started.

so if you're skin is on the dryer side i wouldn't try it ..

my sister did it and she had flakes around the area she applied it to.

if you do wanna try it,

i would get paste that doesn't have anything added to it like scope/mouthwash or cinnamon or anything .. a plan paste NOT gel would work fine.

but if you have a big problem with acne the best thing to do is go to a derm to try and get it fixed .. it's better in the long run.

toothpaste can help with problems NOW .. but it won't keep acne away for good.

It never worked for me. They once had a derm on Tyra who said that it's actually bad for your skin & that the fluoride can just make you break out. I wouldn't recommend it. A spot treatment would make much more sense-- or I've found that using a dab of Queen Helene's Mint Julep Face Masque overnight sometimes does the trick!

i tried applying toothpaste to some spots a few years back, didnt help me at all,if i can remember rightly it made me breakout too...if toothpaste is gonna help,i think it will only help a bit the redness of the spot..i wouldnt bother trying it to be honest.

A girl I went to college with swore by it, but I have found it is too harsh for my skin. I get white patches under the skin (it's almost like the toothpast gets into my skin) and then I gett an itchy, raw patch which turns into a rash.

If you have sensitive skin I wouldn't try it, if you don't then you can test it out on one pimple. Use it in a place that's not going to get too irritated, I wouldn't test it somewhere like the crease of your chin or sides of nose.

I tried it a few years back but it just felt nasty and I couldn't stand the smell of the toothpaste on my skin.

It didn't work for me, but everyones skins different. :D
