HRH 0 Share Posted November 7, 2007 I was recently prescribed one Oracea pill per day, along with Finacea once per day. The doctor says I have mild rosacea. I only have one small red spot on one cheek, along with one reddish lesion (with several small bumps) on the other cheek. For some reason, desonide 5% was really fading the places, but after a week or so it seemed to be making them redder. So, what can I expect from the oracea and finacea. So far, my skin has tolerated the finacea just fine. No stinging or anything. How long will it take to see improvement from the medicines? Will they "dry the spots up" or just fade them over time? Great that you can tolerate these 2 treatments. Antibiotics can take up to 6 weeks to see a difference, and I would expect finacea to take a handful of weeks to reach maximum benefit. You might find a gentle skin care regime, including a sunscreen daily will help resolve your mild symptoms. davidp.
