Collagen building visible?

I self-needle. I've been needling for a good 2 years with excellent results, but there is something in particular I notice after a good needling session which I've never been able to tell if it is what I think it is. About 4-6 days after needling, a layer of transparent tissue builds right into the scar. It is definitely not the same as the rest of the skin and it is not swelling, it is much more transparent and light peachy in color. Is this a collagen layer, is collagen outwardly visible? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does anyone think I'm a quack?
