what kinda topicals do you guys use, if at all

I just asked this the other day and what I was told is that you're not supposed to use any topicals (other than cleanser and moisturizer, of course) during Accutane treatment. Doing some Retin-A afterwards for maintenance is another story altogether, but your skin is far too thin/sensitive at the moment to put stuff on it.

No worries, I do it all the time. Even if it's sorta the same question, sometimes you get a more personalized response.

You don't need anything while on accutane. Let it do it's job. This is a serious drug, don't forget. Just wash your face once a day, and if it starts to dry out, you might want to moisturize. But that's it.

Asperin issalicylic acid!!!!! You shouldn't be using that, and it could actually be bad for you in the long run of tane. I can't believe you can even handle that actually, after a few weeks of accutane SA hurt sooooooooo much!

And OP, think of it like this........ accutane is treating you from the inside to out, don't push back by going outside to in. See what I mean?

You might get break outs through your whole time on tane..... or you might not! I works different for everyone but it really should work!

I think we are all just so used to spending time on our skin every day to take care of acne.... lotions & potions & peels & masks & dips & meds &..... well I could go on, lol..... so on tane we still feel like we should be doing something (anything) to our skin, but really we dont' have to! ENJOY IT! ;)

i'm on 40mg per day (for light/mild acne) and i use bp face wash (5%) at night on trouble areas and it cleared up my initial breakout in a week and i haven't had a breakout since. at first i was apprehensive in using it but i was really not happy with the breakout, started using it and i still don't get dry skin. neutrogena moisturizer (oil-free) is the best moisturizer I've ever used and it keeps the dryness away.

however, i had been using 5% bp cream for over a year so my face is accustomed to bp, soi don't recommend it, but the point is it can work in conjunction with accutane (thought obviously it's a risk and your derm would kill you if he found out)
