what are your thoughts on cortisone injections on an inlammed legion?

I've had a few of my hormonal monsters injected in the past. It helped most of the time. The blemish was usually gone in 24 hours. It hurts quite a bit though

It should never be applied for longer than four days, unless you're on a doctor's order to apply it longer than that. Topical steroids are absorbed systemically, and long term use will thin the skin and cause risk of infection by opportunistic bacteria that take advantage of the steroid's damage of the skin.

I don't like cortisone injections myself, but in the case of a huge monster cyst, it might be indicated. But incision and drainage by a derm/doctor would work, too.
