You think you have bad acne?

Recommended Posts

I'm not trying to make fun of the subjects in the photos, they could be just as nice as you and I. Rather, I am just using their cases to show you how severe acne could be and how rare they really are - only 5% of male have acne at age 25.

I CANNOT believe that is acne, it looks like a burn victim :(

Acne is so friggin' annoying. So simple, yet so complicated, you know?

I actually used to take the bus with a girl who had acne that severe, it was pretty intense, even tho i was selfconcious about my own skin and i normally don't notice acne on other people AT ALL i found myself forcing myself to turn away because the cysts were so severe, i felt really bad for her because i'm really tolerant and i was being an ass and inadvertently staring i can only imagine what an asshole who is really superficial must treat her like! i hope she's happy in her life, i moved so never saw her on the bus again.

That makes me sad. It's so unfair for that to happen to anyone. I hate acne. >(

One of my best friends had acne worse than any of those pics, his was so severe, there wasn't a cm of acne free skin on his face. He had massive cystic acne aswell. One round of accutane knocked it on the head for him though, but before accutane it really did not seem to effect him to much, he handled it very well and got in a relationship with the one of the most stunning/nice girls you have ever met. He's a great guy and as stupid as it sounds i think acne can make you a nicer person all round, atleast i feel it did so for me...

theres a religious girl at my university that wont try any medicine or anything like that and hers was really severe. I felt really bad for her and knew that i could never out up with acne that bad.

But as people have said i'm glad i've had bad acne where i've been really embarressed about it. It allows you to put yourself in other peoples shoes and be a lot more caring. I remember once when i was so shy about my appearance that I never made an effort to socialise. Now I try harder to be nice to people who are clearly shy and its meant that i've got more friends.

Also my skin is clearing up since i've changed my regimen a bit and yesterday i was working in dirt for 12 hours and really sweaty and really worried all the good work i'd done would be wiped off in one day, yet this morning no new spots. It really helps you appreciate life that little bit more.

I've seen a guy in Korea like that. Really puts things in perspective.

Actually this guy on my tennis team had it a little more severe then those pictures. But he was so funny and outgoing that I didn't really notice, just enough to know they were there. Ha I actually had a pretty big crush on him.

It's even worse when people sit around saying how bad it is. You know, a big part of the problem, IMO, is when other people look at situations that aren't their own and assume how horrible it may be for others. Then, when the people going through the horrible situation hear it, they start to believe that others should dictate how they feel. Some people go deeper and have more pushing them through life than how they look. Don't get me wrong, because I struggle very much so to be one of those people. However, they exist.

It's a possibility you can be joyous and successful no matter what your face looks like.

At the same time...GO TO HELL, ACNE!

I knew it. You all are kind, compassionate, live-and-let-live people, and I don't know if it's solely a result of having suffered with acne but the world could use a lot more like you.

Some guys at my school have had acne almost to that degree. I feel so bad saying this right now, but for the sake of being honest - it looked disgusting too. So...yeah if we really sit down and think about it, our acne could be SO much worse....but then again, who wants any acne at all, you know?

I think when your unhappy about your personal appearance, you always try that little bit harder to make your personality shine! A nice personality is such an attractive trait and i think we often forget it because the world is so judgemental on our physical appearance. No one reads 'how to make yourself a more giving human being'...but im sure we have all been caught reading 'how to get flawless skin'. I know i do.
