A question about moisturizing

Recommended Posts

I just have a few questions....

I think I follow the regimen pretty well.

Before I go to school (summer school at the moment. sucks.), I wash my face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, pat dry, and wait maybe 5 minutes. Then I wash my hands clean again with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and get out Dan's tube of BP. I squeeze out the necessary amount on my finger and apply most of it to my two cheeks (that's where the acne is). I spread very gently in circular/varying motions until my skin feels tighter. I clean my hands once more, and I'm ready for moisturizing. Now, here's my question:

In the morning, I apply Neutrogena Oil-Free SPF 15 Moisturizer. Again, I apply most of it to my two cheeks.

Then, 10-13 hours later at night, I do the same procedure and come to the moisturizer. However, at night I usually apply Cetaphil moisturizer because I don't want to waste the SPF 15 one (I'm not gonna face any sun during the night). So my question is, should I just stay consistent and apply one of them constantly or does mixing and matching sound all right?

I should say that I just began the regimen, maybe 2-3 days earlier.

Oh, and my last note:

My right cheek has maybe 3-4 fading reddish pimples, while my left cheek seems to have full blown acne :[ :surprised:

Using two different moisturizers is fine, but I should warn you that if you don't get the results you want on the regimen after a few months, then that would suggest that maybe one of the moisturizers isn't working well with your skin, so you would want to figure out which one that is. Trying to figure out what is causing problems is one of the main reasons why we recommend using as few products as possible when you're starting out, to keep it real basic.

Good luck with the regimen!
