Almost There... :)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

So I've been using Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Astringent along with the DKR for about the last 4 months now.

It's active ingredient is 1% SA.

My current DKR goes along the lines of this:

-Cleanse w/ DKR Cleanser

-Use Astringent on Nose area.

-1 Full Finger BP

-2 1/2 pumps of NHSFL

Morning and Night both done the same.

I've been on the DKR well over a year now. Probably 1 1/2 years.

My acne is well under control, breaking out only when I miss applications at night usually.

Complexion is great, redness is good.

Blackheads are my main concern right now, for a perfect complexion, also one red spot on my nose from a rather large breakout a had a few weeks back that's gently fading.

Anyway, what I come to this forum for.. is whether to stick to the 1% toner, which has good effect, but takes long for results (been using 4+ months steady now) I still have a few stubborn blackheads, and I tend to get more in summer, as it's hot and I sweat more.

Or If I should look for a new toner w/ 2% or more SA as the active ingredient, or some other type of active ingredient.

Some of the one's I've looked at recently are..

Biore's Triple Action Astringent w/ 2% SA.

Clean and Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent w/ 2% SA.

Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Eliminating Astringent w/ 2% SA.

Clearasil Blackhead Control Astringent w/ SEA SALT? .. No active ingredients.

I'll post a picture of my current self, now.

Picture of Myself.

But what would you all recommend?

I know you can't see obvious blackheads in this picture, due to lighting... but they're there.

Thank you in advance for all the time, and replies. =]

A lot of people like Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel. It's pricy, but people rave about it. Maybe drugstore brands aren't strong enough for your blackheads? I'm planning on getting Paula's BHA and applying it to my nose only because that's where I get blackheads. You could also try lemon juice. A lot of pepole say that it works wonders for blackheads.

After looking at more threads, some people don't have good luck with Paula's Choice. If you can, get a sample before buying the whole thing.

Well, I'm definitely not oily, and I'm not dry so I guess I'll go with the gel, and good idea for the sample thing.

Alright, let's order a sample, haha. :)

Thanks for all the help, everyone.

Actually, after reviewing the website.

I don't think I'm going to like the gel, as I would be using that, and then Dan's BP right after.. they might.. "Collide"

So now it's between the liquid, or the lotion.

Hmm, I really don't know..

Aren't those harmful?

and I don't have an actual Dermatologist.

so I wouldn't know where to go for that.
