I got a cystic acne today...

Recommended Posts

Ok.. I am a strict follower of regimen for 3 months.

My face got 98 % clear and I was really happy about it.

I had a moderate acne before I started the regimen.

During the regimen, I got few active acne and they were small and hardly noticeable.

But today, I got a cystic acne.

I really still hope that it is just a mosquito bite or other insects bite.

It is huge but when i push it, it doesn't hurt.

I got in on my left side that I do not get much pimples.

Ive never got a cystic acne in my life, even before I started the regimen.

I think this is lil too big to be a mosquito bite or something like that.

The only thing that has changed is that I recently moved to another region.

I used to live in PA but I moved to CA about 4 days ago.

But I do not think that it makes a cystic acne or something like that b/c I did not get any pimples since I came here and cystic acne takes 2 ~ 3 weeks to form.

I did not even change anything.

I did not change any of my life pattern or products that Ive been using.

I hope its a mosquito bite.

Can anybody help me out ??

can it be a lil bigger papule ?

hello,

are you exfoliating? the reason i ask is because i think exfoliation is really important. it's important to keep your pores from clogging! it's to my understanding that all acne, including cysts and nodules, form due to blocked pores. so if you keep on piling on the BP and moisturizer without properly exfoliating and getting rid of all the dead skin cells your skin sheds, it's likely that your pores are getting blocked and becoming inflamed.

you can use chemical exfoliants (AHAs or BHAs), or you can exfoliate manually. a lot of people, self included, use the baby brush method. there's a huge thread on the baby brush method under mild to moderate. hope that helps!

by the way, i'm not too familiar with cystic acne, so i don't think i can help you decipher whether what you have is a cyst or a papule. i think cysts are supposed to be deep and large. but you might want to go to the severe acne forum and describe to the posters what it is you have. i'm sure you'll get the help you're looking for.

Yes I exfoliate.

I use lachydrin five which contains 5 % of lactic acid.

And also I do the baby brush method once a day.

Its been 3 weeks that Ive been doing the method and having good results with that.

It may possibly be a bug bite.

I know that living in Wisconsin, we do have many pests around here.

And often, I do come home w/ welts the size of quarters on my arms/legs.

I do not know if that would be possible on the face, however.

Edit: Rubbing Alcohol works for me when I get these huge lumps from Mosquito bites.

Just dab a good amount onto a cotton ball, and hold it on the area for 2-5 minutes. Should be gone or highly reduced by morning.

So you did change something. You may want to consider the possibility that you're over irritating your skin, especially if you're doing the baby brush once a day. I've had strange things happen to me when I was using daily brush-based exfoliation... Good luck.
