Am I a candidate for accutane?

I'm going in to see my family doctor TODAY to beg for accutane. If he's not willing to prescribe it, I have a derm appt. Monday July 2nd. I need it right?? I mean i've tried proactiv, dermalogica, differin, all the pills. Nothing has worked. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

hve you tried antibiotics? if they don't work then that's an indication for accutane.

When I was about 16 I went to a dermatologist and tried most of the antibiotics. Including (forgive me if I butcher these) minocycline and tricycline. Also tried the birth control orthotricycline. Topicals included differin and some harsh face wash...don't remember the name. Proactiv was the only thing that kept me semi-clear from then on. I just recently started breaking out in these cystic type spots. They are VERY painful and new ones just keep popping up. The ones closest to my ears hurt the most. Like sharp shooting pains and throbbing. Ugh.

Yes I'd say you are a candidate for Accutane. It looks like your skin might just continue to get worse and it's better to stop it where it's at rather than wait it out on creams and anti-biotics (which don't work forever). Good luck!
