2-3 weeks in,redness,slight improvement,?'s

hey everybody, i started the regimen about 2-3 weeks ago. i can say i've seen a slight improvement, but there is a lot of redness. Between cleanser and bp and bp and moisterizer,i experience dryness and flakiness. i am only 15 an have developed mild acne over the past year.

my products are as followed.

1. Timewise mild cleansing bar (Mary Kay)

2.Mary kay 5% bp

3.Velocity moisturizer(mary kay)

Should i switch to 2.5 % bp?

SHould i change the products that i am using?

I had hoped to see a bigger imrovemnt right now but maybe my hopes were high, like a lot of people.

Now that summer is hear i want to look sharp but it is hard to go out in public or even hang out with your friends, whenyou know they all have clear faces, and your the one stuck with the acne.

Those aren't DKR recommended products. I don't know what those products are like, but they may not be gentle enough & the moisturizer may not be effective enough. Try different moisturizers until one works well, it can make a huge difference. Add in some jojoba oil with your moisturizer; it is really great for dryness on DKR.

Also, can you get a hold of a 2.5% BP? The higher the percentage the more drying the BP is. 2.5% is ideal.

After you've amped up to the full amount of BP, then try a moisturizer with an AHA. I use Lac-Hydrin Five & it's been great at keeping my skin hydrated & flake free.

Keep in mind, it's common to experience dryness & flakiness for the first month or so. Give it 3 months at least to see consistent results. My skin was dry the first month & I did not clear up at all until 3 months.

I haven't tried DKR cleanser, but a lot of people like it. Any DKR recommended cleanser should be fine (visit acne.org f to see supplies). Usually bar cleansers are more drying also

I really like the DKR 2.5% BP gel compared to any other BP I've tried. It's clear, it doesn't clump, and it absorbs more quickly & better. There is really no odor, which is good since you use so much. Plus the bottle really is large. Even with shipping it can come out cheaper per ounce than many BP you can buy at the store. At least try & use a 2.5% BP, cuz it's just as effective as a 5% but less drying.

Products actually can make a big difference, yes. I used a 2.5% BP for years before finding DKR, but because I used a harsh face scrub & no moisturizer (or one that was not very good) I never cleared up to the point I am at now. Being gentle & keeping your skin hydrated are important, so you need to use products that can do that. The list of DKR products is basically a great guide because they have been tried by many with good results & the ingredients are pretty safe to not clog pores.

Hope that helps :)
