Kaik's Body Acne Log

June 20, 2007. 12:35 AM

Just got the idea to start a log to keep track of my progress. Been using Retin-A on my body acne at night. Using DKR's cleanser & applying with my hands. No moisturizer. Read that Dr.Fulton said to keep the skin constantly peeling to achieve a rapid clearup. It's been a couple of days. Skin has been peeling like crazy. A couple new pimples, but nothing new. Hoping to get clear by July. No sign of an initial breakout yet.

Picked all surfaced pimples  . Used a loofah in the shower to rid dead skin. Started using Cetaphil moisturizer. Started using Paula's Choice 2% BHA lotion during the day. BTW, I'm using 0.1% strength. No real results yet.

Looks like the salicylic acid and Retin-A combo might be good. The SA works on the outer layer of skin, while the Retin-A works on the deeper layers. I need to look for antibiotics to treat the pimples.

Update 6:23 PM

Going to use whatever's left of my Clindamycin tube. I think I have 3 days left of use.

A couple new red bumps. :doubt: . I guess I should expect breakouts because of Retin-A.

A new showerhead was installed. This one is now really gentle, opposed to the rusty old harsh one. My acne actually looks better. Maybe it's due to the showerhead.

Acne is looking A LOT better. Neck is completely clear, no more trying to cover it with collars and raising my shoulders. Body acne has gone down a lot but I still have a lot of redmarks.

Skin is looking tons better. I haven't had this much of a clearing EVER, I think. I'm not sure what is causing it, the Retin-A, the BHA, the Fish Oil? Well the BHA will run out sometime so I guess I'll know if it's that soon.

Current regimen:

• Softly exfoliate/cleanse with Dan's Cleanser & a loofah

• Wait until skin is dry

• Apply BHA

-Throughout the day, take 5 Fish Oil capsules-

• Softly exfoliate/cleanse with Dan's Cleanser & a loofah

• Wait until skin is dry - 30 minutes

• Apply Retin-A

• Apply Cetaphil lotion

I'm having mixed feelings right now. A couple red bumps popped up. No positive results since my last post.

I might give Neutrogena Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 a go as I don't think Paula's Choice BHA is doing much.

Today it looks like it's getting better. I'm worried about the scarring though. I need this all to disappear by late August. It looks like it might make that deadline. I might have to tan though to hide it even further.

Today after trying some anti-bacterial wash, I've purchased Dial Spring Water Antibacterial Body Wash with Moisturizers.

I'll see how this goes...

Wow, already I see a huge difference in my skin. I've used the wash on both my face & body and the results are immediate. It makes my skin dry though, but moisturizing takes care of that. It's only about $3 for a huge 18 oz bottle!

Current Regimen:

- Wash with Dial Body Wash & Loofah

- Apply Paula's Choice BHA

- Wash with Dial Body Wash & Loofah

- Wait 30 Minutes

- Apply Retin - A

I think I may stop the topicals and see how the body wash does on its own.

A couple pimples left. TONS of scarring. Hopefully exfoliating will get rid of it

Just had a massive breakout. I think the BHA is breaking me out. A purge I hope. There better not be anymore pimples. The red marks are fading.

The breakouts are finally going away. My skin looks pretty good, the BHA does a great job of making your skin look good. I hope I don't get any future breakouts. The BHA is running out...

New regimen

- Apply 1:1 ACV + Aspirin with a cotton pad (4x a day)

Acne & redmarks/scars have faded dramatically! I still have a long way to go from being completely clear but I'm a long way from where I was. It's getting better everyday with the exception of a couple of pimples that occasionally pop up. School starts in 2 weeks. I don't know when the swimming portion comes up. Probably 2 weeks into school. I HAVE to be clear by then. Until then, I'm very hopeful. This is, by far, the best & cheapest thing I have ever used on my acne. I'm starting to use this on my facial acne as well.

Okay, I just found out that I have a couple more months to clear up my body acne. This is fantastic news as my skin is clearing up a lot but probably will not be by the end of August. Hopefully, by then, my skin will be perfect.
