I'm going to try the GNC brand, but I have no idea which to get because there are so many and none of them just say 'B5'- I'm assuming I should get one of the ones on this page, but can someone point out which is the correct one to get? Thanks-

None of them oddly enough, try http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?produ...rentPage=search as B5 = Panto Acid.

You may want to hunt about a bit though as can prob get it cheaper via other vit places (try ebay for places, make sure they have a good rating).

do not take excess b5 it is not safe and wont adress the root cause of ur acne. The amount in the average multivitamin is all u need unless u go see a natural doctor who says otherwise.

Ok first of all, I have not tried b5 or I don't currently plan to.

First a question, Has anyone who has slowly grudually elevated their dosage to a complete 10 g a day routine and continued it for 3 months achive great results? Also after completely clearing up their skin, has anyone gradually de-elevated their dosage to 3g or less per day and still have clear skin and no sife effects? what about 0 grams and still no acne or sideeffects?

If your answer is no to the lasty two questions, it means we have to keep taking the b5 forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that's not a good thing folks.

I have been on GNC pantothenic acid now for about 2 weeks... and i don't notice ANYTHING!!! If anything I have gotten a really bad breakout, but none of the great oil reduction at all that everyone talks about. I'm starting to wonder if I am one of the 10% of people that this doesn't work for... which is really depressing me.

Did it take anyone over 2 weeks to notice any results at all? Maybe I should switch to a different brand of b5? I was doing pretty well on Dan's regimen but I was just an oil slick, with dry flakes from the bp... it was just frustrating me so I thought i would give this a go.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks!!

I started with the recommended 5grams... then bumped it up to 10g after 2 days... after a week and a half at that and no results (not even slight oil reduction) I started taking 15 grams... I take 5 pills 6x a day.... I have been at the 15 g for about 5 days now and still no difference at all....

praying I just need more time... but so many people said they noticed oil reduction (even slightly) within the first 2-7 days.

For those asking about success rates and whatnot, I'll talk about mine briefly.

I started B5 last year, went up to 10g a day for about 4 months, dropped it down progressively over a series of months after that. For nearly a year I was clear from it. However, after some time I began to notice some adverse side effects, such as dry thinning hair. I also noticed my hair would fall out easier, not to the point where I was getting bald spots, but just individual pieces of hair falling out more often than normal.

Now, I am off B5 and starting the fish oil regiment. I'm hoping to have success with this, as it does not seem to have any downsides.

Long story short, it does work, just be careful, and if and when you begin to notice these effects, I think its time to give it up. Unfortunately nothing that good can last forever. If I didn't have these effects and worry about more serious ones in the future, I would still be on it.

So after u got off acne came back that's y ur on fish oil now?

So 10g was the highest u got 2 and side effects came?

How long did u start seeing results?

Just got some b5....the woman in the health shop asked what it was for, I just went 'oh general use' :lol:

I did have hair thinning slightly but i had so before taking b5, can't conclude that b5 was the main cause, so i supplement biotin when i take b5 to maintain hair growth.

anyway you can find pantothenic acid by going to vitminshoppe.com and etc.

im currently upping my omega3s and lowering b5 to 3g a day and taking biotin with it along with other supps.

Zup!!!!

I started taking 10 grams a day(vilantae liquid) i noticed oil reduction in 3-4 days, hmmm,

was on it for 3 weeks, still breakin out) gave up. But thats the trick you take it till your acne clears up period, im back on it, Since i almost finish the bottle, i read that powder form is better, so i got skinb5 for orund 35 bucks for 20 days!(not a good deal) so ive been taking skinb5 3 times a day, been on it for 6 days now , no oil reduction no nothing!! just a lot of visits to the pool room. Im going to finish it , i mean i bought it already and continue with vitacureb5 is cheaper, 10 gm a day, 3 tsp , taste "bad" but the skinb5 oh my God,mango and strawberry flav? nah uh, disgusting! really really bad. so ill be taking vitacureb5 after i finish the skingb5 , so im on the "no matter what ill be on it for the 4 months" plan and will report every week okey!! wish you all luck, and me 2
