Men Scruffing Lotion 2.5. Clinique - contains alcohol?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently using the Men Scruffing Lotion 2.5. Clinique. I just noticed on the back of the bottle it says it contains alcohol.

All I need to know now is that what effect does alcohol have on your skin and should I stop using it.

The lotoin also contains salicylic acid and witch hazel

Yes. Clinique toners 1-4 and the men's toners all have alcohol. I used Clarifying Lotion 2. It does do a very good job of de-flaking and polishing the skin. I love the feeling of Lotion 2, it makes your face feel minty fresh, clean and cool. But it does all this by pretty much stripping away your skin with alcohol. In my experience Clinique toners have been VERY harsh. Everytime I use their toner, I expect a break out within a week - guaranteed (with my skin at least).

I do reccomend the Mild clarifying lotion. It does not do as good of a job at de-flaking the skin as the numbered toners do. BUT it also contains salicylic acid (though only 0.5%). And I have been using it for half a year and noticed that it has so far done a good job at not breaking me out.
