I despise how there are five million acne products and none of them work.

I just want clear skin! Is that so difficult of a thing to ask?!?

I guess I'm just really frustrated. And broke. Lol... I was browsing several drug stores today and looking at how a WHOLE AISLE is dedicated to just acne treatments, scar reducers, clarifying foam cleansers, pore minimizers... THE LIKE. And I realize out of all these products, I've probably bought at least 30 different types, only to be dismally disappointed.

I've tried a few prescription topicals (Taz, Benzaclin, Retin A, BP both OTC and prescription), NUMEROUS OTCs as I've mentioned... why are there so many of them if almost NONE of them work?!?

Maybe it's just my skin.

*sigh*

I say this now, but I just blew 30$ on drugstore.com buying nearly all new acne products to "try" in hopes that one of them will be my miracle cure... :doubt:

Because it's a business, they know it just further hurts people, so they market it such a way where you feel hope and then you buy it based on what the product says. Instead of what it claims to do, look on the back and see which products really do what they say from the ingredients. And never buy products that have SA or BP in them, you'll get worse from it

"And never buy products that have SA or BP in them, you'll get worse from it "

This is not a true statement for everyone. For some people it's just about finding the correctly formulated SA or BP for them. They're not all created equal. Some can't use them at all. For others, they do wonders.

because for many people, acne is an internal problem as well.

getting rid of bad acne with topicals is like trying to lower a fever with an ice pack

Everyone has dead skin cells at any given time...layers of them. Some people do need and benefit from topicals. They are not the end all answer. Many things need to be taken into consideration. But they do help many people used correctly along with other things. If you've found something else that works for you, that's great.

What a great analogy, may I use that in the future?

I think he was being sarcastic when he said he wanted to use that analogy in the future. Am I correct?

darling, I hope you find something that works well for you. I know how frustrating it can be. Ive bought several things for my acne and most of them having worked. I would recommend Olays Foaming Wash for Sensitive Skin though. Its working pretty well for me. The only thing I dont like is I still have blackheads all over my nose and the areas surrounding it :(
