Low dose accutane??

Recommended Posts

Im severly drug sensative and prone to migraines. Im taking spiro, ortho tri, and I apply differin and finesca topicals. My acne is only on my forehead so I dont even know idf spiro is right for it to begin with.

Anyways, given my drug sensativites.. Im worried about trying accutane. I want to know the good and the bad. I was wondering if a super low dose could work (im 5'4' and 116 pounds) or if I have to have a higher does. I know a lot people up their dose over time. But im worried given my sensativities. I am also wondering if you can be allergic to accutane. I happen to be deathly allergic to antihistamines so I would really have a problem if I have an allergic reaction to anything else.

Has anyone had success with low dose accutane treatment?

I did 40 mgs a day, and I was about your weight and height exactly. Worked GREAT for me.

Low dose to me, though, screams "I'm self-medicating." Can't help you with that one...

usually low doses can clear up acne, but don't lead to long term remission of acne like a normal dose. in other words you would have to take a low dose for a long period of time. which isn't really that doable if you are a woman because of ipledge and the risk for birth deffects, doctors would be reluctant to keep you on it that long.
