Don't feel like going out anymore :(

Recommended Posts

Lately, i just feel like not goin out cause of my acne. So frustrating. I have heaps of red marks and my acne is quite active at a moderate level. Whenever im out in public I just feel like hiding my face, and whenever someone talks to me up close, they hardly look at my eyes, you just see theyre eyes exploring my pimples. What makes things worse is, wherever I look, mostly all the other teens don't have acne, well not like me anywayz. I always think to myself, why me, and not them. And its usually the ones that pick on me (about my acne) or are smart asses that have the perfect skin. I know there are many out there that suffer more than me, but I just feel lately my acne is taking over my life.

I used to love goin out and socialising, but now I find that i'm socialising less, and acne is the blame for that.

hey there, i know exactly how you feel. i always have an excuse not to go out or attend something. since giving up work to look after my daughter i rarly leave the house. i have lost many friends as i was always turning down invitations or had an excuse not to go on a night out. i feel like a complete saddo as i have no friends now. i keep thinking i should join a baby group or something but i dont have the confidence. i have had the confidence knockd out of me by bullys and now i usually go bright red just talking to people i know.

i know this doesnt help you but i hope it helps that someone understands.

by the way i am in the uk and the weather is crap, does the australian sun help your skin at all.

keep your chin up.x

Youd better learn to get used to it. Ive been living a lonley and unfulfilling life for about five years now. The only time i leave is to go work my night shift job.

all you can do is take things day by day and keep trying to find ways to get rid of your acne.

i think the *get use to it* mentality is lame and ridiculous..you should be proactive..find things to help your skin get better,

you also shouldn't let life pass you by..the people in your life who REALLY care about you won't care that you have some spots on your face.

chin up.

Thanks for all your support pplz! I like your attitude, Mortally, but its just so hard to present an 'acnefied' (which is what I call it lol) face with confidence and dignity. The thing that stresses me out the most is that I try so hard to clear out my acne. And when I find success, my worries go away and subconsiously let go of the things that are working for me, only to find soon after my acne has returned.

I disagree. No one should "learn to get used to it." It'll stop you if you let it. I've been off and on my regimen for awhile now and, as the results take a lot of time, I'm not in my best shape.. but that doesn't stop me from visiting the mall, the movies, or out to eat y'know? When I look at people, I'm not scared of what they think of my acne. I've learned not to compare myself to others.

I'm an individual, I pave my own way. I don't skitch rides from people who dodged the acne bullet. I've felt better ever since I've adopted that philosophy. :) Give it a try.

Ignore the ones that poke fun at your expense; they do not matter. If they cannot look past your acne to find the true you -- fuck 'em.

I have a cool looking set of armor, too. ;)

Hahaha! But seriously, I found that when I went through the DKR the first time, I just applied the regimen in the morning and went to work. I didn't even think about what others thought of it. I knew they were looking at it, but I was being myself -- laughing telling some jokes, smiling -- as if I didn't have acne.

And when you do that... they days fly by quick. And after about a month, I'd look in the mirror one day, and find myself almost completely clear.

There are two main points that I would like to state that have helped me along:

1) Go through your regimen, and go about your day. Don't stress out about your acne, do what you would normally do.

2) Try not to make a habit in looking at the mirror all of the time. That's self-defeating, in my opinion. The only times I look in the mirror are shaving+morning regimen, and night regimen. That's it. I don't even look at the mirror when I use the restroom. :P

I'm getting to the point now where i hate going outside unnecessarily! I base my social life on how my skin looks. if its ok, then i will go out, if its bad, i will just sit in the house all day being miserable! Thanks acne!

'Tis a shame I do not reside in your location. I'd take you out. ;)

Dooesn't it annoy u pplz when ppl come up 2 u and saw "Oh, what happened to ur face??". Or whenever they talk to you, you just see theyre eyes exploring your face and concentrating on each and every blemish. Grr that irritates me heaps but I try and stay composed when ppl tell me that and I just say meh, thats life. What do you ppl say when ppl tell u that?
