I personally think you should let your face control it yourself.

You would risk scarring, hyperpigmentation etc. from it.

Though, this is my theory - might not be right, but I'l would risk it.

Let it take its time.

Yes, let them fall off on their own.

I haven't tried it myself, so I really don't have any kind of experince!

And yes, I would definitely moisturize ;)

I've done cross and I wouldn't mosturize but like Rikke said just let them fall off by themselves and don't wear make-up and avoid washing the area for a couple days this is just my opinion but if u had it done by a Dr. ask them.

Well, if the skin gets very dry, I would moisturize. Otherwise you could risk pain, irritation and scabs that fall off due to extreme dryness.

ok only reason i asked about moisturising was cos i thought it would prevent any chance of sunburn etc but i do not need to moisturise really as i have oily skin as it is

Moisturize by putting some Aquaphor on top of the scabs. Make sure to do it gently so that scabs won't come off. Also, if you're going outside put on sunscreen. Without it, the pigmentation spots left by the scabs may be darker.
