Well, Duac is a good med in my opinion, particularly for the less severe (but still inflammatory) types. It's a benzoyl peroxide/antibiotic combo in a lightweight lotion. Apply that mornings. Once you get used to that, ask your derm for a gentle topical retinoid (like Differin) to ease into using at night. That will be enough for most mild to moderate types. The antibiotic lessens inflammation, and the retinoid clears the blocked pores (although that process takes while and there are probably going to be ups and downs in skin condition for awhile).

Now, the oral antibiotic (Mino), i don't have good feelings about. In my opinion, the side effects of systemic antibiotics (such as chronic yeast infections, just for instance... :eh: ) outweight it's positive influence on inflammation.
