Surgical Spirit for oily skin?

Recommended Posts

my nan told me that back in the day (ages ago lol) there was non of these fancy cosmetics that are so cheap, so she used to apply surgical spirit for my grandads oily skin and she said it worked.

i was just wondering if there is anything wrong in doing this?

btw surgical spirit is 95% methylated spirit and 5% other crap.

thanx

If you use it I wouldnt use it regularly as its main ingredient(methylated spirit) is an irritant and as we know if you irritate your skin breakouts will follow. It strips the oils from your skin but you may find your skin over compensates and it produces more oil.

I personally wouldnt use it, its properties are dangerous and it just isnt made for regular use as a mattifyer.

Hope this helps

 :D
