pimples on different parts of the face

Does any one find that pimples on different parts of the face have different "hardness" although they can be the same type? For instance i get papules on the lower cheeks and lower face they seem softer but when i get them higher up near the cheekbones they feel much harder?Or are these possibly nodules/cysts because they are "hard"?

They resolve roughly the same way though which leads me to believe hardness is NOT a good gauge to see what kind of pimple u get?

It's easier to distinguish what kind they are by what they look like. It could be simply because your skin is less.. thick up around the top of your head (like your cheeks are soft but your forehead is hard?) I don't know, just an idea..
