Glycolic Acid

Recommended Posts

im not exactly sure what it does, but from what I've heard.. it's good for acne prone or oily skin? and i think it might help exfoliate too. I have a cleanser which contains 12% glycolic acid and it's pretty good. im also considering doing a glycolic peel but i need to do some research on it lol

It shouldn't be used with a lot of presciption topicals like Retin-A. If your on Retin-A and want to use GA then you should take a 2 week break from Retin-A before doing GA peels for example.

gycolic acid is an AHA. and it is heavily discussed in the 'Red Marks' forum as it is one way to try and get rid of red marks - (using as an exfoliator).

I think the standard to use is 30% and 6 treatments then a pause (costs about £9 for 6 treatments - once per month)

There is also an AHA called Lactic acid. which is for more sensitive skin.

Hope that helped. jsut check out the red marks forum, theres laods about it on there.
