Best diet changes

As the topic says; what is the best thing you've done to change your diet? If someone were to only change a couple things what would you recommend?

For me, undoubtly cutting out sugar. I confirm once every 1-2 weeks just to see if it really is the problem. So far, so good.

If someone were to only change a couple things what would you recommend?

Probably junk food first, then check to see if diary is a culprit, else/then sugar.

Replace grains with greens

(or replace the Food Pyramid grains position with the Food Pyramid green position and the other way around)

Make lot of green smoothies out of those greens, consume lot of cricuferous veggies and always consume caloric dense foods with few steamed or raw greens

processed food

and reading labels turns me off from eating bad food again. If I don't know the word, i don't eat the product.
