cleanser question?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody else had the problem of the Cetaphil or Purpose cleanser not being able to rid you of your make-up? It's as if they are TOO gentle and I worry about them really cleansing my face. I have been mixing Apricot scrub along with the cleanser to make myself feel as if am actually *removing* makeup, dirt, ect. ( very gently of course) I have been on Dan's regimen for about 3 months using this method ( along with tons of bp) and my face has been incredibly clear. l also use an alcohol free, oil free toner to rid myself of any remaining residue. Have had nothing but positive results. smile.gif Just wondering if anybody else does what i do. ( with a more substantial cleaser/toner) Oh, btw, I am new...great site! Nice to meet everyone smile.gif

I found that the original Cetaphil was just too icky--too lotiony, and like you said it didn't clean well, also it has sodium lauryl sulfate, which causes my acne to get worse. I don't use scrubs often, but when i do i use baking soda, much gentler than an apricot kernel scrub (the pieces of apriciot kernel are jagged and can scratch the skin). My favorite cleaser is Jason Natural Super C Gentle Cleanser. It cleans very well with just a small amount, and is SLS free. The Purpose cleanser, i tried that in college, and it was actually too harsh, probably the detergents.
