Breakouts [AFTER] using blackhead strips WITH PICTURES

I went a little crazy the other day and used these blackhead strips to rip off all the little blackheads on my nose, chin and forehead. My skin was super clear and now its all broken out with little whiteheads and small red bumps...my skin has never been this bad. How can I get them away or really WHEN will they go away?

please help me

A derm that I went to once, who seemed very good and knowledgeable, told me that anything that is rough against the skin that can irritate it can cause break outs. I also noticed that when I was using a scrub/cleanser with microbeads, even though it made the quality of my skin texture look better, it caused me to get random whiteheads and blackheads especially on my forehead. Same thing for when I use oxy pads. They help with oil control, but sometimes they irritate my skin and cause blackheads etc..

I also notice that sleeping on a part of my face will tend toward break outs in that area. So, I recommend you avoid stuff that is rough or irritates the skin. Just my experience/opinion.

First of all...calm down. I now it seems terrible but your skin was super clear before and will most likely return to that state. this looks like you just irritated your skin with a product. try not to use any harsh cleansers and just keep it clean...(dont touch) cetaphil works great! if you just leave it alone chances are it will clear up its own.

It looks like an irritation breakout to me. I have had those when I've gotten waxing done - even on places I don't usually break out. It took a few weeks for those areas to clear up, but they eventually did. I think those blackhead strips are just too rough on your skin. I would give your skin a little time to calm down and recover - maybe just use a gentle cleanser for the next several days and see if it seems like your skin is going to clear up on its own. Does your skin still feel irritated? Because, I'd be hesistent to recommend any topicals until your skin calms down a bit.

thanks everyone for your insight, it is greatly appreciated! yes my skin is still irritated and it seems to be breaking out in even more places. i'll stick with a gentle cleanser for now and update soon about what happens.

THANKS AGAIN!

Yes! This happened to me as well, but I only placed the strips on my nose. It was almost like by ripping at the skin caused it to heal over itself, not removing enough and trapping in the remains of the blackhead which started to fester. I think it took me about 2 weeks to start getting clear again just going back to my normal routine. That was last year and I haven't been game to touch those pore strips since - still have the rest of the pack in the cupboard. I did use a different brand once years ago and never got this reaction which is weird.

I have been on Dan's regimen for 1 1/2 weeks now and it has cleared up the blackheads on my nose pretty well, which nothing else has ever done. I do love the jojoba oil though!

Good Luck.
