accutane insurance question

Recommended Posts

hmm, i'm not really sure how insurance companies work. if my derm doesn't accept a certain insurance (mine of course) can i still get the pills at a reduced rate at the pharmacy? all my other meds were copay.

thanks!

i believe the actual derm and the pharamacy are 2 separate things. just make sure the pharmacy takes your insurance.....you might want to shop around for another derm. just go to your insurances website and search for a specialist in you area...thats what i had to do! it's confusing, i know!

it doesn't matter whether or not the pharmacy will take your insurance, they'll take anything. it's whether your insurance will cover accutane or not. your derm visits may not be covered because your insurance doesn't cover specialists or requires a referral from a GP.
