The following link describes which silicone oils are approved for medical use and which are not. I didn't even consider this until I came across the website today. Those of you thinking about having them done PLEASE read so that you are informed 100 percent and the chances of success are maximized:


Bottom-line, beware of any physicians who use Dow Corning silicones, as they are only approved for industrial purposes and not for injection into the human body. There is a list of approved oils included inside this link. Just for kicks, I think I am going to call around and ask different derms in my area what type of oils they use. You should be sure to ask to see the vial during a consult.
