How to get rid ov red mark after popping zit.

Had a huge zit in between my eyebrows, couldn't leave it there and I cud see some white stuff so I popped it. Ploblem was it was a lot trickier to get the bad stuff out than I was hoping.

Good news is that I got the bad stuff out, but it's left a really noticable red dot.

Anyone got any quick (overnight) remedies to get the redness right down?

Thanks

First, it's VERY BAD for you to have to work hard to pop a zit.. as you can see, you have turned the zit into a huge red blob.. you irritated it. This irritation can lead to more infections and an even bigger zit. Don't pop 'em unless they're ready!

From what I understand, most overnight stuff (like toothpaste, etc) can cause scaring, the thing I would do is throw some Salicylic acid on it. Salicylic acid is basically aspirin, and what aspirin is in an anti-inflammatory... so what it does is take away the swelling and redness (but it tends to be more gradual.. but helps a bunch)... you can find salicylic acid in face cleaners, astringents, lotions, and gels. I would get the gel. Neutrogena has some nice stuff.. its a small tube for about $6 but it's worth it. It's called Neutrogena Rapid Clear 'Acne Eliminating Spot Gel'. (For reference it's 2% Salicylic Acid). Put it on every time the pimple starts to bug ya throughout the day and put it on before you go to bed, thats what I've done and it works great! Good luck! :D

I don't use quick fix treatments as a rule but I had no idea that sort of thing caused scaring. Why? How does it do that?
