Which is the best treatment for acne scars???

Hi everyone

I'm a newbie in this forum, and I've been really bothered by my acne scars. They just seem to get deeper everyday. I've been keeping to a strict regime of washing, scrubbing, toning and moisturising, yet nothing seems to work, other than preventing further outbreaks that is.

I've tried a scar removal cream, but that failed as well. I've not seen any results even after using it for more than three months.

I've seen a skin specialist recently and he recommended that I go for the laser treatment. What worries me is: will the scars come back after sometime? From what I've read in this site, no treatment is permanent, and that's really freaky!

Would you guys like to share some information with me please?

Thanks and best regards,

Troubled

As you probably have read from the FAQ, there are a lot of different things you can do for scars and any red marks or redness in your scars. It's hard to say what's the best scar treatment. Different people react differently to different treatments. Some may have more success with certain treatments than others. As for the lasers, there have been numerous threads on this board that hint towards Smoothbeam as probably one of the most effective non-ablative lasers currently available. This is unfortunately not widely available, as I live in a major metro. area and there is not one derm that has it. Besides lasers, there are injections you could get of various sorts. As you may well know too, there are a lot of products at online stores that supposedly treats scars. It is hard to say what will work best for you. You might have to try many different things before finding one that actually does what it claims to do. This will probably be the case for me, as I have not yet seen the kind of results I was hoping for from my 1st laser treatment.
