Frumpy&Bumpy 0 Share Posted September 21, 2006 LADIES, do you notice any pattern to when you breakout during your cycle?I seem to break out worse 2 to 1 week prior to my period. And I notice my breakouts are fewer from about the last day of my period to 2 days afterwards.Does anyone know why this is? In other words, is some hormone at its highest or lowest at these times? SweetP 0 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Yes, hormonal acne flare ups are sometimes controlled by birth control pills, like Yasmin. Some have reported that it made a huge difference. I, for one, can attest to this. I was on Ortho Tricylen (sp?) for a few years, and it helped decrease my oil and with painful cystic acne. I am not on BCP anymore since we are trying to have a baby. I would definitely go back on the pill after baby (crossing fingers!).
Frumpy&Bumpy 0 Author Share Posted October 1, 2006 I really don't want to take any meds. Is there a natural way of dealing with the hormones? A food preferably.... supplements are ok but not as good in my opinion.
Kitty_Collins 1 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Salmon helps me. But it aggrivates acne in some people.
