kanmi 2 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Is it really that bad for you to consume vitamin A on it, and is it bad if you don't take it with a fatty meal?
Case N 1 Share Posted September 21, 2006 Yes. Natural Vit. A food intake is fine but not supplemental Vit A.If you wait I'm sure Danny will come in here and type a few thousand words exactly why this is. But my fingers are tired.
kanmi 2 Author Share Posted September 21, 2006 Thank you casenickles.Yes, i'm just asking because as part of my diet i'm going to be eating carrots every day and i'm just hoping this is ok.
beentheredonethat 6 Share Posted September 21, 2006 Carrots contain a Vitamin A precursor - it's ok to eat those on Accutane. You need to avoid supplements that contain pre-formed Vitamin A, and organ meats like liver for the same reason. If you are not taking your Accutane dose with a source of fat, you are getting less than half the absorption that you would if you were. Stick with "good" fats like olive oil and avocado.
