Long term effects on skin

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know whether there are any long-term (bad) effects on the skin by using AHA topical moisturising creams, containing glycolic acid, citric acid etc? I've been applying AHAs to my face for several months now without fuss, but just recently my skin became irritated in various places and I've noticed flaking/peeling skin - though nothing considerable. Especially beneath the eyes, where I obviously rubbed in the cream, though not intentially. The product I've been using is 10% btw (8% Glycolic, 2% Citric acid) for those concerned. While I don't really know if it's helping with scarring or not, I'm keen to go 15%. But thought I'd enquire here first, re. long term effects.

Comments? Thanks in advance ;)
