ok..first off did you do the peel yourself or at a derms?

Second what did you use, how strong, and for how long?

Third, you say its been like that for a month..so was it a month ago that you had the peel?

Forth, what nationality/ethnicity are you?

Fith, where are you from? This may help someone give you a good derms number/email/address etc for advice.

Answer those and someone may have a solution to help you. I think if the right treatment is done soon, and as long as the peel was not too deep, you should be able to correct the pigmentation. I dont think (although not sure) if you did a light peel that you could have gone deep enough to have permenantly effected your pigment. But, you definately need to get on to this right away, and may involve the cost of going to a reputable derm for advice and treatment.

Take deep breaths, get all the information you can, and try not to panic.

i did it myself i did a couple tcas over a course of time and they went fine, then i started doing this retinoic peel like daily when your only suppose to do it monthly and it sheded my skin like alot and i started noticing it after i stopped doing the retinoic peels like the 4 day after or sumthing, and its been like this since i noticed it, i guess it was pink b4 not white thats y i didnt notice it b4.

and im puerto rican, i live in maryland, and i cant get a derm at the moment because i cant affoord it and my insurance wont cover it.

AND YES IM VERY SCARED!!!!if i gotta live like this for the rest of my life, well i dont think i could do it, ill give it another month to see improvement, if not by then then i could be really screwed

Do you tan? Maybe the pale skin is your natural skin tone. If that's the case then I think the other area (darker skin) would peel.

Dude!! I've got the same type of burn on my lower left cheek, it is whitish around the edges and red towards the middle. Although your's is more expanded throughout your face, your's doesn't seem to have penetrated far to have caused some scarring. Peels CAN scar! Mines has some depth, but yours looks like it didn't penetrate so deep that it could have caused a depression. Yours is still very raw looking. Mines is a burn that has been there over a month and I THINK the redness is beginning to subside with some ointments, but I am not sure. I've been told it will take a "loooooong time", as put in the words of another poster.

You seem to have affected a lot of your pigment. Except that when it is red it means that the healing isn't over yet. THAT does takes months on months unfortunately to get the redness to subside and it will eventually. As far as the white part, if after the redness is gone you still have white patches left, this could be a sign of permanent pigment loss. Tans and time could bring back some of what was lost, but I absolutely don't reccommend the tanning part. As Pff says...try to see a derm or use antibiotics and keep the area EXTREMELY moisturized with burn ointments you can get at a local pharmacy....

Dont' panic, there is no point in that. You will still be looking into months of recovery. If at the end of the tunnel you still see a problem, THEN you might think of determining better methods of recovering...Just remember, don't expect anything to come back within the month after period.

**wanna see my burn?...here.

more pics, its weird cause in sum lights it doesnt look that bad i dont get it, its same with a couple shallow scars i have its like really visible in sum lights and not visible in others??is this possible??

it does seem poss more pale pink rather than white...is that correct? It could be still healing.

You say you cannot afford to see a derm...but isnt there anyone that can help you to afford one? Or maybe seek the advice of a gp at least. Other than that see if you can find a doctor/derm online that offer free advice when you post a question to them. They should be able to give you advice on how you should treat your skin just now and if there is any chance of permanent pigment change.

You have been strong for a month..so keep being strong..and just source as much information as possible just now.

one word of advice you MUST do just now: WEAR SUNBLOCK!

p.s. if the whiteness upsets you whilst you are healing then there is special camoflage make up for exactly this kind of thing, such as dermablend. Dont worry, its not like normal make up..you wont look like a girl. Most good pharmacys stock it and have samples. If you are feeling brave, you could go to one and test a bit on your skin. BUT, if you think you want to try this, make sure you find out if your skin is ok to use it on as it may still be very delicate from the peel.

jetermvp02, yes! Lighting will affect, skew and obstrue anything you thought it was, thought it might look like or thought it could be. The only type of lighting that I will absolutely scrutinize myself under is natural outside lighting. That is the worst for me, and also backlighting.

I do see pink in his face. HE IS STILL HEALING! I haven't checked my burn wound in some time now, but the whiteness along with the pink is beginning to heal! You are still too early in the game to judge anything, buddy. You can get your pigment back. Seeing this new set of images, I dare to say your skin can sort itself out. Just give it time, but make sure you TRY to make arrangements to see some specialist just in case.

I'll give you the link to somewhere where you can ask questions in the meantime.

AllExperts.com

Click on the "Ask a question" link for either Michael S. Fisher, Ph.D., M.D. or Uribe whose a technician. She reccommended NeoCutis sold at Derm offices for my burn, but it is too expensive so she gave me the option of Mederma instead. They are really helpful and usually answer almost right away.

its usually white, occasionally its pink like when i get out of the shower or anything warm/hot on my face will turn it pink, idk like you said its too early to tell, and i do feel there is sum color in it its not completely gone white, and ive been looking at other skin pigmetation problems, and it seems when they totally lose thier pigmentation it goes pale, idk i could be wrong, but im hoping for the best

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONCES

Since it gets pink then, it should heal!!! Be patient, and try not to worry (it's tough though)......

The maderma sounds good for healing quicker, read up some for myself fairly recently.

Let us know how it comes along!

I think your skin tone will come back. Your skin doesn't look damaged to me. Don't worry too much. If you don't like to use makeup, there is tanless lotion you can apply to blend the pink skin tone. I've done TCA peels many times and the pinkness is normal. It does take a while for your natural skin tone to return. Yes apply sunblock when you go out.

dermablend and similar products are waterproof. u use a cleansing lotion such as their own or baby lotion/make up remover to remove it. Its also non-cosmagentic (sp?) meaning it wont break you out. You have to practice to get the right application. You can gen get a free sample set online infact. Try www.dermablend.com or google 'free dermablend samples'. When you use it then use the setting powder (which looks freaky white, but after the required time on your face it just blends in) its set and waterproof. Its used for things like birth marks. Ive seen people use it on their strawberry birthmarks on thier face and it blends it all away. You can then swim etc.

Do contact that link Bratz gave you for some free advice. And/or others too.

And DO DO DO wear sunblock! Cant stress that one enough. Its important, or will affect your pigment more as your skin is at a really delicate stage right now.

ok so i get the setting powder and that will automatically blend my skin in???and thats all i need, sorry im kinda new to makeup lol, i went to the site www.dermablend.com they got alot of samples i would say i have olive skin, so i gotta get the cover creme and setting powder???and possibly the dermaremover to remove it??and will girls be able to notice im wearing makeup???cause i dont wanna do it if thats the case, i tried makeup one time and my sister knew right away it was, it was cheap stuff though

order the free samples and forget about the powder for now (or ask them if they can send a sample of it too). Follow their advice on how to blend etc. You only need a tiny amount. Like a thin veil. Try it out and get your sisters advice on wither or not she thinks its noticable.

Dont worry about paying for their remover. Cleansing lotion or baby lotion will remove it. Then wash your face as normal.

If you have a good relationship with your sis, get her to help you out.

yea i think i will get it, i dont really have a relationship with my sister or any of my family, i dont really talk to them ever since i got acne, cause whenever i do i always feel like they never really look me in the eye, and have self-pity on me which makes me feel like shit, sumtimes i just get real pissed, cause i know it shouldnt be that big of a deal, but i find it really hard to even talk to my brother anymore without keeping my head down or not looking directly at him, i cant wait for my face to heal.(LIFE IS SOOO FUN WITHOUT SKIN PROBLEMS), but im figuring i will be stronger once i get through this, because then i will actually of been through sumthing, and i will appreciate having clearer skin. thats wut i think at least
