On Spironolactone...when will the fatigue go away???

Recommended Posts

I've been on 200 mg of Spiro since July 7 (for acne and facial hair). I feel so tired and fatigued during the day, even when I'm not doing anything physical or strenuous. I've read that this tiredness should pass, but it's been about a month and a half. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm 26 and about 120 pounds, and my Blood Pressure and Pulse (prior to starting Spiro) used to be normal/low: 120/80 bp and 60-80 pulse. Thanks!

Well, not to scare you or anything, but my mom has been on spiro for almost 15 years and she still suffers from extreme tiredness. That woman will fall asleep at the drop of a hat. One minute, you'll be talking, and the next, she's snoozing away.

However, she does have clear skin. I'm scared of the tiredness, too, because even though I'm clear right now, I have this feeling that my acne will come back and I"ll have to try spiro to nip it in the bud.

Wow. That makes me worry! Just curious-- do you know what dose she's on? I wonder if I lowered the dose if I would be less tired. Also, is her blood pressure normally low? Thank you!
