The ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 Fatty Acids (FA) in the early 1900's was a 1:1 ratio. Today it's 30:1. In sick people it's 40:1 and in those with psychological problems like Schizophrenia its 70:1.

Asthma was virtually non-existent in early 1900s and now its grown to approximately 36% of people have some type of asthma. Allergies are another area that has grown a lot. Autism use to be 1 case per 2000 children in the 80s, the rates of autism is now 1 case per 150 children. A correlation can be seen in those who are autistic to have high levels of mercury and also a high Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio.

Having a ratio of close to 1:1 for the Omega 6 to Omega 3 is very important for the body to be able to be healthy enough to keep healthy and reverse a lot of disease processes and problems we see in the United states.

What do we do about the abnormal levels of Omega 6 to Omega 3?! See below.

Glutathione is the #1 chelator (takes heavy metals out of the body ex. Mercury and Lead) and one of the top antioxidants (helps the body to fight cancers and other disease processes). Glutathione when taken in a supplement form does nothing for raising levels of Glutathione in the body and thus nothing for producing free radical scavenger that go after cancer and other disease processes. Cysteine is a precursor for Glutathione in the body. Taking Cysteine in a pill or powder form doesnt typically raise it enough to produce the right amounts to raise Glutathione. However, precursors (co-factors) that help to produce Cysteine and then convert Cysteine into Glutathione into free radicals are the following: B6*, B12* (methylcobalamin form), Riboflavin*, Vitamin C*, Vitamin E*, Folic Acid*, N-acetyl-cysteine, and undenatured whey protein. Supplementing with Omega 3 requires the use of many of the above said vitamins* to get it properly into and used by the body, to balance out the Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio.

I hope you were able to follow me so far. I wish I had time tonight to get into the dynamics of why Omega 6s in large amounts are bad and why Omega 3s are good. Ive been available providing health answers on this site almost since the beginning (not sure how long its been). Im providing this information to help those who are sick to be well again and to keep those already healthy feeling healthy.

Here are some suggestions:

Dont eat/consume the following:

Grapes (unless organic) this means the juice and wine too.

Refined carbohydrates (ex. high fructose corn syrup)

Antibiotics (there are certain cases where you really need these, but for the most part you dont).

Hydrogenated oils aka Trans Fatty Acids (they also contain aluminum). Food can have the label 0 Trans fatty acids, but still have 500mg per serving still not good. Any foods you suspect to have the trace amounts still avoid.

You can find out by reading the labels on the back of the products to see what actual ingredients are contained in them.

Do not eat farm raised salmon (wild salmon only should be consumed). Avoid Tuna, Swordfish, shark, and other big fish.

AVOID GLUTAMATE aka MSG (# 1 cause of allergies and neurogenic problems like chronic pain). It definitely enhances the taste of foods and thats why its used (sprinkled on fast food French fries). Go to www.truthinlabeling.com for further details.

AVOID ASPARTAME (aspartame and glutamate kill neurons in your brain and cause other problems as well).

Decrease the intake of Omega 6 fats like corn, sunflower, safflower, cottonseed, peanut, and soy oils.

Take the following:

Magnesium, Zinc, Omega 3 oils (with antioxidant cofactors listed above), dont take cheap over the counter oils (they may contain mercury and carcinogens) only take pharmaceutical grade oils.

Minimize refined carbohydrates ex. All deserts and sugary drinks, breads, pastas, potatoes, and white rice.

For the physical aspect:

Regular chiropractic adjustments even when you are feeling good. Boost your immune system and stimulates the nervous system in a positive way.

Low level laser therapy facilitates tissue healing.

Walking 30 minutes per day

Weight lifting 3X/week

Other exercise: Yoga, Swimming, Biking, etc

Crossword puzzles

Play a musical instrument for 30 minutes a day.

Minimize or avoid all television watching.

How this affects acne is omega 3 and 6 also 9 play a role in prostaglanding production. They need to be balanced but this can be different for person to person depending on your bodies ability to convert them into longer chain fatty acids (found in salmon and cod etc). If your diet is excess in any of these you can expect breakouts in most cases. 'Most' western diets are high in Omega 6, this is why Omega 3 is stressed more in a western diet as healthy! Keeping the balance of these is key for proper hormone production! Each of the Omegas produce different prostaglandings making over 30 in all. Excess in one of the Omegas will mean excess in the prostaglandings made.

Adding a Omega fats in the diet I feel is crutial if you are trying to change diet to help clear acne: If purchasing Omega oils/caps it important that they are processed correctly as sunlight, heat and oxygen can damage the celluler structure and turn them into free-radicals. This is one reason fried food (highly heated oil) is bad for the body, free radicals attack tissue like tiny dynamite, the liver takes the brunt of the attacks and this inturn depletes antioxidents like vit E, A and most of vitamins.

Edit : Just thought I say Lmao to playing a musical instument...how thats gona affect the balance of omegas is far fetched I can imagine.
