what is a good powder foundation to use?

Recommended Posts

I use Joppa Minerals and it works awesome. It doesn't look or feel powdery, and is not shiny like some other minerals I've used. I also like the brushes better, they are really soft. I heard about them off another message board but I see that some people here use it too.

Let me say do NOT use neutrogena mineral sheers. It made my face breakout horribily after just one use.

I was shocked too, because usually neutrogena's products are wonderful.

I find that a simple covergirl pressed powder works the best.

yeah i use cover girl's fresh complexion pocket powder. it doesn't make my acne worse, it covers well, and it lasts pretty long. but it doesn't cover my large pores. i don't think a powder ever will tho... :(

I disagree. I am using Neutrogena Mineral Sheers and I love it! I will say that it doesn't give great coverage, but right now I am just looking for something to take away the shine and even my redness out a little bit. It is very sheer. The great thing is that it tones down my shine without giving me that cakey look. It has little reflective something-or-others in it that (I think) make me look fresh. And even though it doesn't make my red marks disappear, it does give me an overall more even skin tone. I have not noticed any make-up induced breakouts from this makeup.

I've heard good things about Covergirl TruBlend Powder Foundation (it won a CosmoGIRL! Kiss of Approval in the recent issue), and I love ColoreScience Powder foundation w/ SPF 20, even though it's rather pricey. ($55 for the first one, and $45 for two refills). I like things that come in dispensing brushes because they keep me from applying too much. I also like the Physicians Formula brand, but I've never used their powder, though I've heard good things about it.
